RediRad captures the simultaneous LOVE of a vintage automobile and the music from which a given Freedom Machine reigns.
For me, “car music” is a special subset of rock and roll, and it appeared on the scene very shortly after hot rods themselves appeared on America’s streets and highways. When I have a couple of hours to myself, I like to spin some 45s, LPs and even a few 78s with an automotive feel to them.
A man named Robert Williams (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Williams_(artist)), not to be confused with another great and influential Robert Williams, of Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Trio (or Boys, depending on the release date) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Sandy_%26_His_Fly-Rite_Boys), compiled and illustrated a proper tribute to “car tunes”. His two-LP set has some simply delicious artwork on both the jacket AND the vinyl. If you get a chance, find this comp and play it – LOUD.
